The National Transportation Safety Board’s website www.ntsb.gov contains statistics on loss of control accidents, updates on current investigations, and detailed final reports. We will use many of these as real examples of the maneuvers and upsets in a dynamic training experience. After completing our training, you will be better equipped to AVOID trouble spots and prevent upsets that have led to many General Aviation accidents.

Details on the UPRT Syllabus
Article Tom wrote regarding Loss of Control and details on why the course is set up the way it is. |
"I recently did the 2 day UPRT course given by Tom. Since I did the same type of training when I was a Capt. at United Airlines in a 777 simulator, I was able to evaluate Tom's approach to UPRT. Training was great! Doing this type of training in the aircraft is much, much better and more realistic than in a simulator. The Ground School was very complete and very informative, just technical enough to really understand what we were going to do in the aircraft. Both flights were well organized, instructive and overall a lot of fun. If you have never had Upset Preventive and Recovery Training, this is a course that should be on your "must do" list. As a refresher, the course is superb and a great reminder of how to react when you are upside down or pointed straight down. Highly recommended!!"

"Tom is a very experienced pilot and a very helpful/knowledgeable instructor. I did my Upset Recovery Training (UPRT) Course with him, and it has been very valuable to me. Tom not just made me a better pilot to advance my flying skill but a safer pilot by recognizing unsafe events before it happens. I'd highly recommend him!"
